Barcelona midfielder in talks with three Premier League clubs

Departures are the need of the hour at Barcelona, especially considering that the new signings of the winter transfer window are yet to be registered with the league. One of the names perpetually at the top of the departure list is Phillipe Coutinho, and Barcelona are once again back in the market looking for potential suitors.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian is beginning to understand that he has to leave the club in January. His importance in the team has been on a constant decline since his arrival, and things have not changed under Xavi.
Despite being given a fresh start under the new manager, the former Liverpool star has struggled to perform at the optimal level. Moreover, the rise of youngsters in midfield and in wide positions has left him without any place in the team.
Coutinho’s agents are said to be working with three clubs for a move away from Camp Nou. The three sides are all from the Premier League — Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham Hotspurs.
The Gunners have led the list of suitors for a while now, especially with Mikel Arteta in search of a player of a similar profile. Talks of a swap deal involving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have also hit the news. However, Everton and Tottenham joining the race could make developments very interesting.
Further, Fabrizio Romano stated that there are other clubs apart from Everton – who he mentioned specifically – working on the operation.
Coutinho has only averaged 42 minutes per game in his 12 appearances. With an average of a goal every five games and just 37 touches per game, his figures have been far from impressive. However, it could be a nostalgic return to the Premier League that re-ignites the genius in him.
